Just a suggestion that IC structure I think should be defined so everyone's on the same page in terms of things like prides.
One in particular is what comprises a pride? Is it just the King, his Queen and a harem of lionesses like a "real" pride? If there is only one male, and the King and Queen are monogamous, from an IC perspective, that would not make a lot of sense -- only the Queen would then have cubs.
While individuals may vary, whether or not other males are in a pride besides the "king" is broader than individuals. It could very well vary from pride to pride, so maybe just the IC pride leaders could determine such individually for their pride. It could help to work out Nala's parentage (her being betrothed/intended to Simba would imply Sarafina and/or her father have some special standing) and Kovu's in the Outlander pride.

It could help to work out Nala's parentage (her being betrothed/intended to Simba would imply Sarafina and/or her father have some special standing) and Kovu's in the Outlander pride. Some of those answers will depend on what the players of certain characters intend to do with those characters. Suffice it to say that regardless of the answer, only children of the King and Queen would be considered royalty. If there are other males in the Pride, however, they would be welcome to marry/mate and have cubs with non-royal lionesses. So, if Mheetu wanted to have cubs with another lioness in the pride somewhere down the line, he'd be welcomed to and they'd be considered pride members but they wouldn't be royalty. As for what exactly constitutes a 'Pride' I would argue that it's any group of leonines that group together under a leader. Simba and Nala are the leaders of Pride Rock, which is considered a pride. Zira is the leader of the Outlanders, which is also considered a pride in spite of not having a male leader. Though, it could be argued it that Kovu was meant to fill that role when he grew up and that Zira was merely acting as kind of regent or power behind the throne. With all that said, though, the parentage and polygamous/monogamous relationships of their characters is dependent on whoever is playing the characters. Simba and Nala have to decide between each other that relationship and Nala has full freedom to come up with a father for her. (Barring Mufasa and Scar from being said father, of course.)
